Northrop Grumman is seeking a Legal Intern/Law Clark for an internship opportunity. This position is located in our Corporate Sector and will be located in Falls Church VA, Dulles VA, McLean VA, Linthicum MD, El Segundo CA or San Diego, CA. This position can also be virtual/remote for summer 2022.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Corporate Law Department during the internship period.
The selected candidate will work in a fast-paced legal department, working with experienced Northrop Grumman counsel, including by participating in meetings with counsel where the candidate will debate and discuss legal issues with counsel. The candidate will join Northrop Grumman counsel in interacting with their business partners. The candidate will conduct legal research and prepare memorandum on a wide range of topics, including government contracts, litigation, investigations, employment, and international matters.
As an intern, you’ll participate in a summer internship program to develop competencies in a variety legal areas that may include:
- Legal Research
- Legal Writing
- Participation in strategic decision making
Basic Qualifications
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
- Be enrolled full-time and pursuing a Juris Doctor Degree from Howard University School of Law
- Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 8 weeks during summer 2022.
- Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance if required (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
- Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
Preferred Qualifications
- Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
- Good presentation and writing/communication skills
- Self-motivated, willing to learn and interested in working in a team environment
Intern Pay Range:
$29.25 to $33.25 per hour
