Sales Strategy and Programs Intern

As a Sales Strategy Intern, you will use a mix of business intelligence, modeling and analytics to develop deep business insights in support of the sales and marketing organization’s role in driving Zendesk’s overall path to growth.
You will be part of a hard-working team chartered with analysis that drives business health and strategic insights supporting go to market (GTM) programs for the commercial (mid-market) and enterprise segments that improve revenue and profitability. This role requires a strong research and analytical approach as well as being able to provide sound ‘practical’ recommendations to leadership. You will gain experience in key functional areas such as strategy, sales, marketing, customer experience, advocacy, finance and analytics.
The successful candidate will have a steadfast curiosity, and possess a passion for creative analytical frameworks to drive insight and actions. Candidates should be able to generate hypotheses, independently analyze sophisticated data and make strategic recommendations despite uncertainty and ambiguity.
Lead analysis of business performance and the broader market, craft insights from root causes and design strategic recommendations to GTM leadership for decision making and investment.
Inspect business trends and performance as the basis to build strategic perspectives and operational insights that drive actions.
Identify untapped market potential, then develop and implement plans to gain it.
Support programmatic implementation of initiatives developed by GTM leadership or strategy team to improve performance and investment opportunities in new business growth.
Work closely with internal partners to analyze and find opportunities for key business drivers (In example- sales efficiency, pipeline conversion, win rate, coverage - by region or by market segment).
Required :
Outstanding problem solving skills: confirmed ability to prioritize, structure complex problems, perform deep analytics, derive business insights/scenarios and develop solutions, in a hard-working sales environment.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate sophisticated information to functional leaders and executives.
Proficient in CRM and data analytics/modeling tools such as BigQuery and Tableau.
Highly collaborative teammate who can independently work cross-functionally and build trusted peer relationships across the company with internal counterparts.
Preferred :
Deep understanding of software industry / SaaS models
Experience in sales, marketing, or customer success
MBA is preferred
