We are looking a full-time summer 2022 news reporter intern. Candidates should be curious, energetic, digitally savvy and unafraid to ask difficult questions of newsmakers.

The internship will involve a wide variety of breaking news, daily stories and mid- to longer-term enterprise coverage. The intern should be comfortable holding her or his own at news conferences, at emergency scenes, at government meetings and in source interviews. Regular access to a car for assignments is required.

The position will involve routine collaboration with, and guidance from, newsroom leaders and reporters as the CDT continues to accelerate its digital emphasis.

Qualifications include:

• The ability to write quickly, accurately and well;
• Solid news judgment;
• Driven, with an instinctive grasp of what will engage your audience;
• A deep grasp of what drives interest on Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms;
• A strong entrepreneurial spirit, good curiosity and high energy;
• A collaborative style that works comfortably across teams spread throughout the office and company.
• A familiarity with entry-level video editing platforms is preferred.
