Job Summary:

J.B. Hunt has a great opportunity for a 3-month, paid project-based internship in the Human Resources department. This program is a feeder to a variety of full-time opportunities after completion. This internship is from June to August, full-time or part-time, and can be performed either remotely or on-site at our Corporate campus.

The ideal candidate will be results-driven and have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. Ability to work independently is necessary for success, along with working collaboratively with all levels of the HR team and cross-functional business leaders. This is a great opportunity for a student pursuing a Industrial and Organizational Psychology or Human Resources related Bachelor or Masters degree to gain on-the-job experience!

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clear understanding of talent management including the employee lifecycle (e.g., hiring, development, performance appraisal, succession planning)
  • Outstanding communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills
  • Skill in working both collaboratively and independently
  • Experience translating technical I/O and HR problems into practical solutions
  • Strong analytic problem-solving skills

• Statistical experience and expertise analyzing and drawing conclusions from people data • Ability to live the “scientist-practitioner” model, balancing science with practicality

  • Proactive project management skills
  • Ability to drive progress and make decisions
  • Ability to set priorities and manage a variety of tasks in a complex and sometimes ambiguous environment

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and currently enrolled in an accredited Masters program within Human Resources,
  • Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Statistics, Business Analytics or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some experience in an office environment preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and resume databases
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
