Position Overview
Th e eCommerce and Customer Empowerment (ECE) Data Science team is looking for a Machine Learning Operations ( MLOps ) Engineer Intern to help with a project focusing on standardizing and streamlining the continuous delivery of high performing models in production. The intern in this role will partner with fellow Data Scientists , Engineers and eCommerce experts , in order to develop a proof of concept aiming to provide a personalized experience to Autodesk customers. The role will investigate architectural concepts, tools and practices required to iterate over an end-to-end pipeline for experimentation, model deployment, observability and maintenance of Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) models. This is an exciting opportunity to explore the state-of-the-art architecture in MLOps at scale .
Responsibilities
Principal responsibility for designing and developing a proof of concept for a streamlined end-to-end, continuous and automated process of deploying, monitoring and maintaining versioned ML models, at scale.
Design and implementation of services , tests , and interfaces to support this proof of concept .
Work closely with the rest of the team to gather and analyze model performance drift.
The ideal candidate is a strong ML Eng i neer who thinks outside the box, is naturally curious, highly collaborative, and has a passion for tackling complex data-centric problems .
Minimum Qualifications
Must be at least 18 and enrolled in college or non-traditional education, such as coding boot camps or industry-related vocational classes
Proficiency in Python , Java, Go or NodeJS.
Interest in cloud data processing, training, deployment, or operations ( e.g. AWS, GCP , Azure ) .
Good understanding of fundamental CS algorithms and their scaling behaviors in data structures, algorithms, and software design .
Ability to work as an individual contributor in a supportive team environment .
Preferred Qualifications — a bonus, but not required
Pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Information Science, Data Science, Analytics, Machine Learning or a related field
Previous projects relating to serving model infrastructure.

About the eCommerce and Customer Empowerment Data Science Team
The ECE Data Science Team is responsible for applying technology and analysis to improving the ecommerce and customer support functions at Autodesk. Our team is made up of a diverse group of people with varied backgrounds and interests. We work in a supportive and collaborative way, applying the latest technology and rigorous analysis to solve interesting questions. Examples of our work include personalization for ecommerce users, models for routing customer queries to agents, designing effective scripts for our support chatbot, and measuring the impact of automation on customer forums.
About the US Intern Program
The U.S. program runs from May through August for 12 weeks and will be remote (subject to change). All internships are paid. Interns have the opportunity to work alongside peers from universities all over the country and participate in intern events such as TED talks, mentoring, fun events, and more.
