Job Description

ENSCO ASE is recruiting senior engineering and support staff supporting the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense, Research and Engineering Branch (OUSD/R&E). We are currently seeking a Junior Technical or Engineering - Systems Engineer (SE) is capable of providing technical expertise within the SE activities. Mature judgement required to interface with external stakeholders and senior government personnel. Position located in the Washington D.C./Virginia area. Telecommuting or remote with management discretion.
  • Work to evaluate and secure cutting-edge technology and engineering capabilities to facilitate modernization efforts and support DoD joint warfighting efforts
  • Work with a team of driven, supportive, and highly skilled professionals
  • Capable of establishing strong working relationships within the DoD and identifying and resolving issues.
  • Demonstrates creativity, foresight, initiative, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented problems.
  • Provide Professional Engineering Services in the areas of Technical Expertise and General Engineering Support; Engineering Policy, Guidance, and Standards; and Systems Engineering

Qualifications Required (Skills)

  • BS degree or higher in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline that is relevant to Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to develop papers, reports, and briefings targeted to senior decision makers
  • Experience to include supporting policy and process engineering activities
  • AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN

Qualifications Desired

  • Master’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline that is relevant to Engineering.

Division Description

The Aerospace Sciences and Engineering (ASE) Division is based in Cocoa Beach, Fla., with facilities and capabilities in Colorado Springs, Colo., El Segundo, Calif., and Orcutt, Calif. ASE’s primary focus is aerospace engineering, cyber security and meteorological systems.

ASE is the prime contractor to the U.S. Space Force, providing Systems Engineering & Integration of the Launch Safety infrastructure, the Satellite Control Network and the Standard Space Trainer.

ENSCO’s aerospace engineering efforts support launch range activities throughout the U.S. ASE employees are developing the Range of the future and evaluating highly technical systems for critical launch operations, including range instrumentation, safety and communications.

Our Cyber domain experts are providing engineering solutions for space systems Defensive Cyber Operations, as well as cyber consultative support for private sector and government organizations.

The ASE Division is the premier integrator of weather systems and technologies to enhance safety, reduce cost, and lessen weather impacts on space launches, aviation and business operations.
