Security Engineer - Junior
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining operational effectiveness and efficiency of the security infrastructure.- Designing and suggesting changes and upgrades to the security infrastructure.
- Participation in the review of security implications of new applications, optimizing network integrity by reconfiguring network core equipment, installing local and/or wide area networks, communications software, equipment, and network facilities
- Environment monitoring for purposes of capacity planning,
- Coordination with other internal groups in providing open communication specific to all environment activities, including testing, upgrades, scheduled down time
- Implement complex Check Point firewall clusters, VPN devices, IDS/IPS solutions.
- Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of security systems
- Monitoring the security devices for alerts, notifications, and other significant messages. If necessary, escalating to Senior Manager for action
- Maintain existing capabilities, make recommendations and implement appropriate up to date security technologies such as firewalls, encryption, anti-virus software etc. as needed
- Provide expertise in the areas of database security, web application security, and operating systems securit
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:
Software:
- IDS/IPS
- VPNs – IPSEC, SSL,
- Web, application and network security techniques
- Anti Virus
- Host Based Firewall
Operating Systems:
- Windows and Linux
Hardware:
Education:
- High School Degree
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
Experience:
- 2-3 Years in large IT security environment, Automated vulnerability assessment and scanning tools, Network, host, data and application security in multiple OS environments, IP Networking, IDS/IPS
Certifications:
- Prefered CCNA, Cico Firewall Specialist
Other:
- Candidate must be a good “organizational fit” with the rest of the EI team.
