VMware Service Provider and Edge Business Unit (SEBU) builds platforms and solutions to help communication service providers (CSPs) modernize and monetize their networks. With VMware SEBU products and solutions, CSPs can improve the experience they deliver to their subscribers, reduce their operational expenses, and introduce new capabilities to monetize their networks better.

What type of work will you be doing an intern? What assignments or requirements will you be performing on a regular basis?
Depending on your background, interest, and technical alignment to the various areas of VMware SEBU technology stack, you could be working on various team projects. The most important item to remember about a VMware as an intern is that it’s all about potential and learning. We want our interns to be well rounded individuals driven to learn new things.
As an intern on this team, you’ll work on the latest technologies in cloud, networking, 5G and software systems, and contribute to a product that is envisioned to disrupt the telecom industry.
What are skills that would be helpful for a successful internship?
- Pursuing an MS in CS or EE
- Strong programming experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Go, Python, Java
- Interest to learn and grow in one or more of the following domains: networking, cloud, software systems
- Strong communication skills
- Eagerness to work in a teamwork/collaborative environment

Where is this role located?
This team has been historically based out of VMware’s Palo Alto office. However, this role is open to fully remote and can be done anywhere in North America.
If you live in the surrounding area, you will have the option to work from the office partly or fully if you wish to do so.
