Korean Junior Localization Editor

We're looking for a Korean Localisation Junior Editor to join our team in New York as part of our Content function.

Korean Localisation Junior Editor primary duty is to handle WGSN's Korean localised contents and site updates – acting as a strategic arm of Content and collaborating with Market and Product departments to transcreate and localise assets for digital publishing and product launch. We are looking for bilingual-bicultural localisation talent with the gift of working with two languages to skillfully transcreate and localise content from our Global Content Teams who work across WGSN's products: Fashion, Insight, L&I, Beauty, Food & Drink, Coloro and City x City. Availability to work remotely is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle localised/translated content for our Korean platforms, as well as other brand related marketing materials, ensuring WGSN's TOV, ideas and concepts are delivered accurately/consistently in target language, using culturally sensible terminology

  • Share daily tasks related to management of WGSN Korean website and content. Have the autonomy to handle every day core tasks/responsibilities in the absence of senior Korean editor

  • Assist senior editor in contributing with research to The Global Talent Map – WGSN’s content globalisation initiative – developing and evolving your own research abilities in the process

  • Assist in creating and updating the language style guide and glossaries with senior editor periodically to ensure terminology consistency across localised content

  • Participate in team meetings remotely and stay on top of daily communications

  • Offer support to freelancers and part-timers by giving instructions, constructive feedback, and keeping support materials updated

  • Provide language and cultural expertise to check English reports' to ensure the writing accurately reflecting regional culture per request.

Your Experience

  • Must be a native Korean speaker with an exceptional command in Korean and English research, reading, and writing – skillful in transcreating and localisation editing from English to Korean. Ability to back translate Korean content to English is an advantage

  • Prior professional experience in Korean content publishing serving the design, lifestyle, and/or marketing industry strongly preferred. Passionate about language and culture movement in Korea

  • Degree in Journalism, Localisation, Strategic Communications or PR

  • Adequately prioritise and organise tasks under tight deadlines while demonstrating attention to detail

  • Comfortable with flexible work hours and working across regions and time zones and collaborating virtually with teams and freelancers

  • Open to changes and challenges, eager to create, adapt, learn new process

  • Self-motivated, efficient and team player with the ability to work independently and remotely able to prioritise to meet set deadlines

  • Technical skills: Usage proficiency in Apple computer and Google tools, including a basic understanding of market research data tool are desired
