Throughout the pandemic, one of our key priorities has been to keep employees as safe as possible. At this time, we plan for most of our summer internships to be virtual, with exceptions of essential groups. We ask for our intern candidates to be flexible to a virtual format or residence in the location of the position throughout the duration of the internship.


Internship Summary:

The IT web intern will aid in documenting and the transfer of content from outdated CMS to new Headless solution. They will aid in providing notes and how-to guides on data structure. Consider workflow improvements for data understanding. As the marketing team works side by side with Dexcom IT we will be servicing marketing’s needs as well. They will be asked to use the content management system to aid updating public facing content.


Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Support the development of marketing content for use in dexcom.com web spaces.
  • Execute on data structure documentation process and help marketing with developing clear workflows
  • Transfer media from monolithic CMS to new Headless CMS
  • Aid in understanding locale specific content for international markets


Required Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. (A writing sample will be required.)
  • Knowledge of Content Management Systems and development systems associated
  • Interest in, or familiarity with, the healthcare industry. Experience with the medical device or biopharmaceutical industry is highly desired.
  • Interest in or familiarity with front-end APIs specifically JSON, javascript and React.js
  • Highly flexible and able to shift priorities as needed.
  • Self-starter with exceptional interpersonal skills.


Educational requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in progress from an accredited college or university (Junior or senior)
  • Relevant coursework on business, marketing, communications, journalism, liberal arts, health-related field, or writing preferred.
