We at Affirm seek interns for summer 2022 to help support comprehensive Sanctions and Merchant & Marketing compliance programs. Join us in our mission to change consumer finance through better technology, lower costs, and increased transparency, while providing the best customer experience.
What you'll do
- Follow company policies/standards to determine if activities or transactions are non-compliant / potentially suspicious, and act on them as appropriate
- Assist our originating bank partners with generating and filing reports
- Undertake project work and compliance program enhancements
- Partner closely with merchant partner facing teams to support merchant integration and marketing requests
- Work closely with our compliance team to stay current on industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Investigate compliance matters in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining high-quality standards
- Work in collaboration with cross-functional teams across the organization
What we look for
- Interest in consumer compliance, risk management, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), sanctions, or fraud
- Good judgment, organizational, and analytical skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Good working knowledge of analytical tools such as Snowflake or Excel, plus visualization software such as Looker or Tableau
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with business partners and to explain complex regulations to them
- Passion for technology, consumer finance, and improving consumer credit products
- Progress toward or achievement of industry certifications is preferred but not required (such as CAMS, CFE, or CIA)

The majority of our roles are remote and can be located anywhere in the U.S. and Canada (with the exception of the U.S. Territories, Quebec, Yukon, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories) unless the job indicates a different global location. Employees in remote roles have the option of working remotely or from an Affirm office in their country of hire, and may occasionally travel to an Affirm office or elsewhere for required meetings or team-building events.
