Assist in creating a collaborative and transparent environment that helps deliver business value in a quick and iterative fashion. Collaboration, relationship-building, communication and leadership are key aspects of the Product Owner role. The ultimate purpose of the Product Owner is to understand the Stakeholder needs, prioritize those needs based on business value and communicate those to the Technology Delivery Team so they can continuously improve the product. Interns are placed in dynamic teams with one of two goals: delivering technology that makes educational finance simple so borrowers can achieve their dreams, and supporting the systems they need to serve students each day. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


As a Product Owner Intern, you will partner with one of our full-time Product Owners to complete the follow job duties:
1. Active and effective collaboration with Stakeholders, Development Teams and Product Manager to ensure an aligned understanding of business needs and objective; consistent understanding of business value to be delivered and common understanding of release plans and impacts.
2. Ensuring decisions are made regarding product direction and priorities, and are based on Stakeholder input and factual evidence.
3. Facilitating creativity and shepherding the innovation process – seeking team input and buy-in on decisions
4. Responsible for maximizing the value of the product by clearly articulating the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ of the work prepared for the Delivery Team.
5. Owner of the product backlog to ensure it is prioritized based on business value and in alignment with product strategy.
6. Ensuring the backlog is refined - visible, transparent and clear, and provides detailed descriptions of the desired outcome to the Delivery Team.
7. Participating in team ceremonies and/or meetings.
8. All other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION:
Pursuing a Computer Science, Business, Communication, or other areas related to technology.

EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience or exposure to Agile methodology
2. Preferred pervious internship experience in IT or Business.
