Description

SAIC is seeking experienced, energetic, forward-thinking Junior Full Stack Java Software Developer to work remotely in support of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense/ Readiness (OASD(R)).

Note: This role offers PERM work from home/ remote/ virtual work at home with up to 10% travel onsite to support the client at the Pentagon.

Job Duties:

  • Design, develop and test software applications as part of an Agile development team.
  • Work with the business analysts to understand the requirements documented as user stories.
  • Work with the testers and subject matter experts to optimize functionality against the documented test cases.
  • Support our customer in architecting, developing, and modernizing applications.
  • Support technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Work with the cybersecurity engineers to identify and remediate any security issues with the code in a DEVSECOPS environment.
  • Operate as part of the Agile process and participate in daily scrums to promote frequent communication among the team.
  • Travel 10% of the time.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • HS/GED and 7 years of relevant experience in software development OR Associated degree in Computer Science and 5 years of relevant experience in development or a related field; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 3 years of relevant experience in development or a related field
  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance.
  • 2+ years’ development experience in Java, Java Server Pages (JSP) or JavaScript.
  • 1 year experience working with Object Oriented Design
  • 1 year experience working in an Agile/DevOps process
  • 1 year experience with architecting and building applications
  • Experience with complex SQL queries
  • Experience writing, troubleshooting, and bug fixing code using secure coding practices
  • Posses a inductory understanding of software engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Experience with .NET a plus!

Target salary range: $75,001 - $85,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
