Intern - DevOps Engineer

Position Summary:
Our DevOps Engineers work closely with product, engineering, operations, security and support teams to help design reliable, secure, and cost-effective systems that meet business needs. The DevOps Engineer helps ensure that on-premise and hosted systems remain healthy and available. This opportunity will give you hands-on experience understanding how applications function in a cloud environment, how to build the tools to manage them effectively, and assist in creating a blueprint for future growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Catalog infrastructure and operational assets and workloads by ownership and role
Develop meaningful ways to differentiate and tag assets, better preparing the environment for accountability and auditing
Investigate the automation of tagging and modification of tags through intrinsic or extrinsic information such as a CMDB
Investigate reporting tools and methods for reporting on ownership and workloads
Incorporate discovered tools and methods into DevOps Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices through tools like Terraform
Required Qualifications:
Basic understanding or prior experience of some scripting language
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Effective analytical, organizational, and taxonomic skills
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and interested in a career in technology
Team player
Experience and Education Requirements:

- The Workplace Type for this role is Flex. Based on the nature of your position you will be working onsite approximately 2-3 days per week from collaborative space and hoteling desks at our Dexcom sites. You will need to be located within commuting distance (typically 75 miles/120km) of your assigned Dexcom site.
