What Your Job Will Be Like
We are seeking a Year Round R&D Graduate Intern to join our dynamic team!
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Help with data analysis
- Perform literature reviews
- Perform collaborative research with members of teams
- Assist proposal writing
- Learn copyright and open sourcing of math and science algorithms
- Prepare presentaions
- Conduct research in new and emerging AI, neural network, and related computing technologies

Qualifications We Require
You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:
- Earned bachelor's degree
- Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited science, engineering, or math graduate program
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
- Ability to work up to 30 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
- U.S. citizenship
Qualifications We Desire
- Bachelors degree in Biology, Bioengineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or one of the physical sciences
- Experience in data analysis
- Expereince in basic computer programming
- Expereince in conducting publishable research

The department of Cognitive & Emerging Computing (Org. 01421) pursues foundational research and development of:- emerging general-purpose energy-efficient and beyond-Moore computing paradigms;- cognitive, brain-inspired and neuromorphic computing, human-machine interface technologies;- advanced heterogenous architectures based on integrated commodity components, special purpose accelerators, neural architectures and algorithms.

Security Clearance
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
