VMware is seeking an Analyst Intern in the Product and Cloud Services (PCS) finance team. As an integral member of the finance and business leadership teams, your overarching responsibility is to provide financial information and analysis that is relevant, trusted, and insightful so that the executive leaders can make effective decisions that improve VMware’s performance.
Success in the Role: What are some notable accomplishments within the 12-week internship program?
- Within the internship, become familiar with the FP&A role within PCS finance team
- You will work closely and establish business partnership with your peers and business partners
- You will build financial models to provide insight to the team
- You will contribute to the continuous improvement in finance process and initiatives
- Obtain basic knowledge and seek to learn the products / services that VMware offers
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
- Drive SaaS enablement and P&L management for high growth business units
- Lead business unit (BU) Finance FP&A Analysis
- Provide executives with clear insights into drivers of business growth, risk, and opportunities
- Build models to determine future bookings and revenue
- Influence R&D investment decisions through product portfolio analysis
- Create strong internal infrastructure for budget management, tracking, and reporting
- Gather, consolidate, and analyze operating and financial results while explaining the trends and drivers behind the numbers
- Perform market opportunity assessment and financial modelling for R&D business cases
- Establish business partnership with R&D and Finance
- Identify and drive initiatives to continuously improve, automate, and scale forecasting and reporting tools and processes
What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?
You will be joining the PCS finance team. The ~100 person organization is comprised of Analysts, Managers, Directors, Senior Directors and VP – Ryan Hom. The global team is spread primarily throughout VMware offices including Palo Alto, CA, Atlanta, GA, and Heredia, CR.

Where is this role located?
The location of this role will be remote. You will be working with finance teams in Palo Alto, Atlanta or Costa Rica.

This position is available to currently enrolled Bachelor-level students only. The internship will be a 12-week, full-time commitment during Summer 2022.
