MBA Intern - Technology & Innovation
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Research lean product management and product development methodologies including best practices, processes, and organizational structures. Develop insights and make recommendations for:
o Product Lifecycle
o Business Models
o Product Strategy
o Lean Product Roadmap
o Prioritization Techniques
o Metrics
- Discover the best practices to enrich current business models by combining goods and services successfully into hybrid offerings. Identify top challenges of transforming from product-centric to service-centric organization
- Work with commercial and technical leaders to build and refine business cases for potential new products in the technology portfolio
o Identify and evaluate sub-segments and key customers within each, deriving key insights to share with senior management.
o Analyze and interpret marketing metrics to identify cause-effect relationships between innovation initiatives and financial outcomes. Identify positive and negative trends and find the appropriate solutions and recommendations when needed.
- Conduct industry-specific research
o Identify commonly used Innovation metrics. Analyze and interpret these metrics for the current technology portfolio
o Working with the existing framework, recommend an optimum portfolio balance per innovation type (efficiency vs sustaining vs disruptive) based on industry-specific norms and standards. Compare and interpret the current the portfolio balance to those of competitive peers and industry standards
- With market leads and product management, recommend specific technology readiness, production capability and marketing approaches to support sales growth of new products utilizing launch planning techniques and implementation checklist tool
- Perform all of the above requirements in an independent and reliable manner.
REQUIREMENTS
- MBA student after 1st & 2nd year of study preferred
- Four year degree in Engineering or Statistics with a strong background or interest in business, strategy and marketing
- Two to five years’ experience in a technical role within a global industrial business environment is preferred.
- Candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation development and delivery.
- Working knowledge of data analysis and presentation tools, such as Alteryx and Tableau
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.
