We are actively hiring for an Innovation Intern! Join us and support CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer, in achieving our goals.
CSAA Insurance Group is seek an Innovation Intern to participate in our Intern Program. You will have an opportunity to support the Corporate Innovation Team which is primarily responsible for technology assessments, market research, new venture planning, and corporate strategy. This role offers opportunities to become proficient in the insurance industry while gain exposure to market opportunity analysis, competitive landscape analysis, and building a go-to-market strategy for start-ups. As an Innovation intern, you will work closely with corporate strategists and innovators helping CSAA solve their toughest problems and take advantage of the most significant market opportunities. You will work on structured analysis and collaborate with a team to provide compelling points of view to senior leadership. Your research and insights will contribute to a diversity of ideas in working with internal clients on unique and challenging projects to build CSAA’s future. You will have a unique opportunity to shape strategic ideas and engage with executive leadership of a $4B Insurance Carrier.
As an intern in the Intern Program, you will participate in a 10-week experience which offers a hands-on, real-world learning experience. You will be deeply immersed on your teams while also participating in opportunities to learn broadly about our company through networking with senior leadership, job shadowing sessions, working on a summer-long project, and attending roundtable discussions, training opportunities, and intern bonding events.
Essential responsibilities
- Assist with in-flight and planned innovation projects that are intended for market launch including performing product-market fit analysis of potential products.
- Identify emerging trends and identify potential market opportunities and their value proposition in a given market
- Perform market research to understand the competitive landscape and size the market of emerging technology landscape in the insurtech domain and adjacent fields. (Analyze market trends and identify disruptive players)
- Collect data for analysis and present findings to stakeholders to assist with innovation decisions. Possibly conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to form insights.
- Identifying potential partners and business contacts
- Present data-backed analysis to executive-level stakeholders and persuade them on key projects.
- Research key topics that affect our business and how we innovate, and compile insights into written summaries for internal & external distribution.
- Perform data entry and other duties as needed
- Develop an understanding of Insurance, and the broader business environment
- Communicate your ideas to stakeholders through effective written and oral communication
- Invest in your professional development
What would make us excited about you
- Current undergraduate or graduate college student, ideally graduating in December 2022 or May 2023 (or within one year of the internship end date)
- Pursuing a degree in a major such as Innovation, Design Thinking, Entrepreneurship, Business, or related fields
- Interest in learning more about the insurance industry, innovation trends, and/or disruptive technologies
- Previous academic or professional experience involving market research, quantitative analysis, or management consulting a plus
- Proven ability to research, think critically, analyze effectively, and communicate confidently. Advanced familiarity with PowerPoint & Excel a plus
- Ability to and learn about previously unfamiliar topics and present findings
- Self-motivated and results oriented professional with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team setting
- Has the ability to influence and effectively handle multiple projects
- Demonstrates diplomacy, maturity, empathy, and intellectual curiosity
- Extracurricular accomplishments successfully balanced with strong academic performance with GPA of 3.0+

The compensation for this role is $22.50/hr and this is a contingent worker role and is not benefits eligible through CSAA IG.
