HR Directions seeks a prospect for its client RTI International for the Financial Analyst Internship within the Social, Statistical, and Environmental Sciences business unit.


Social, Statistical, and Environmental Sciences (SSES) business unit carries out projects in education, health, social sciences, and social policy design using a variety of technological, analytical, and methodological approaches, including primary data collection surveys. The SSES pricing team supports the budgeting and pricing of proposals to RTI clients.


The Financial Analyst Intern will assist in developing cost proposals. The primary role will be creating client and internal budgets, publishing and formatting reports for client presentation, and assisting in compiling compliance documentation. The Intern will gain experience and exposure to the contracting industry from a financial perspective, including knowledge of budgeting, government compliance, contract types, and working in a team environment.


Responsibilities

  • Pulling data and running financial reports, preliminary interpretation of data and other ad hoc requests.
  • Reviewing Request for Proposals/Applications (RFP/RFAs) for issues regarding financial or contractual risk.
  • Compiling documentation for submission of business proposals to a variety of clients including federal and state government, international organizations, commercial firms and foundations.
  • Data entry into financial forecasting software and obtain necessary review by financial analyst and manager.
  • Working simultaneously with different RTI pricing analysts on a variety of proposals at one time.

Additional Information

This virtual paid internship will take place from January 2022 through May 2022. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week. Hours are flexible during business hours, Monday through Friday.


Required Qualifications

  • Junior or Senior currently enrolled in a 4-year university, majoring in business, finance, economics or accounting
  • US citizen or permanent resident
  • Proficiency in using Adobe and Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and compiling multiple documents into a single, clearly formatted PDF volume
  • Must be able to work remotely and on east coast time
  • Capable of working independently as well as with others on a team to help complete business proposals in coordination with other members from the technical, contractual, financial and administrative units

Preferred Qualifications

  • Related experience and interest in government contracting, financial analysis, project management, and/or risk assessment
  • Understands the value of customer service and is able to provide in an exemplary manner
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, organization, and attention to detail
  • Possesses the highest level of integrity and trust
