Position Overview

As an Intern in Autodesk's Legal Department, you will work closely with lawyers around the world with the opportunity to work on a variety of legal issues, including in the areas of intellectual property, product development, mergers & acquisitions, e-commerce, compliance, data protection and privacy, commercial transactions, litigation, licensing, and marketing. You will collaborate with our Legal team on projects designed to give you real-world, practical in-house experience with a global legal department.

Recruiting Timeline:

Applicants should target applying by February 1, 2022 . Initial interviews will begin the week of February 7, 2022.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive exposure to a variety of practices areas within a corporate legal environment, including intellectual property, product development, mergers & acquisitions, e-commerce, compliance, data protection and privacy, commercial transactions, litigation, licensing, and marketing
  • Research various legal issues relating to technology topics such as SaaS offerings, cloud computing, data protection and privacy, e-commerce, and software sales models
  • Research, analyze, and create recommendations on legal issues across a variety of practice areas
  • Research and analyze cutting edge technology trends and legal practices, and conduct benchmarking analyses
  • Review and amend non-disclosure agreements, consulting services agreements, sponsorship agreements, and license agreements
  • Prepare presentations and trainings for legal and business colleagues

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently completing 1st or 2nd year of a JD degree at an ABA accredited law school
  • Experience or interest in intellectual property, product development, mergers & acquisitions, e-commerce, compliance, data protection and privacy, commercial transactions, litigation, licensing, and marketing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Able to work proactively as well as collaboratively
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to demonstrate collaboration, time management, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Prior experience working with matrixed organizations in a software and/or legal environment

About the US Intern Program
The U.S. program runs from May through August for 12 weeks and will be remote (subject to change). All internships are paid. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, be mentored by industry leaders, work alongside peers from universities all over the country and participate in tech talks and other activities designed to support your personal and professional development. US recruiting begins in the Fall and concludes end of March.
