Amentum is seeking a Junior Test Engineer for the AN/SQQ-89 Program in Dahlgren, VA.

As a Junior Test Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

• Testing USW Foreign Military Sales (FMS) systems primarily in Manassas, VA at SQQ-89 integrator facility.
• Documenting problems observed while testing.
• Maintaining and updating test procedures.
• Attending meetings to discuss the results of test events and reviewing documented problems.
• Reviewing system requirements documentation to ensure capabilities are captured in test procedures.
• Onsite/Travel: Expected to be on-site LM Manassas 3-5 days per week. In addition, up to two weeks of travel per quarter may be required to CSEDS Moorestown, NJ or SCSC Wallops Island, VA.

• Supporting inport and underway SQQ-89 operations and training, including ASW Qualification. System Grooms and CSSQT.
• Conducting PMS.
• Supporting operational system checkout of SQQ-89 system onboard (in port and underway) and in a shore site environment.
• Travel: Travel to Japan may be required

• Active secret clearance
• Ability to support travel up to 50% of the time
• Ability to support OCONUS travel as required
• Ability to support extensive travel (3 months) in a calendar year
• High school diploma and two to four years’ experience in field engineering OR Or US Naval operational experience in a combat systems rate at the E6 level or higher;
• Relevant experience must include the following:
  • Two (2) years concurrent experience in testing and test analysis of systems or software for surface ship weapons control and C2 systems
  • Experience performing test activities including developer/capability level testing, functional level testing, software/system integration testing, and AEGIS combat systems integration land based testing
  • Experience with the use of simulations in a test environment
• Working technical knowledge of SQQ-89
• Experience testing tactical shipboard systems, including System Qualification Testing (SQT) and External Interface Testing (EIT)
• Aegis (DDG/CG) CIC experience with CADRT/DDRT plotting in support of USW, SUW, SAR, CBR and NSFS missions required
• Must be able to work well in a team environment
• Most possess good communication and analytical skills

• SQQ-89, AEGIS combat system, or DDG-51 class shipboard experience
