Overview

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), a world-renowned Comprehensive Cancer Center located in the heart of Boston’s medical area, is seeking applicants for its 2022 Summer Administrative Internship Program. The goal of this internship is to provide high potential individuals, who demonstrate a unique contribution and commitment to diversity, with the opportunity to further develop their leadership style and analytical skills by working on major initiatives impacting the Institute.

The Business Initiatives and Alliances Solutions Intern will support the planning, development and implementation of new products at Dana-Farber.

Requirements

  • Intern 40 hours/week for 10 weeks from May 31 – August 5, 2022 (100% remote*)
  • Contribute to high visibility projects and major initiatives, ranging from detailed implementation to strategic planning activities
  • Partner with an Executive Sponsor and work directly with senior leadership teams
  • Participate in programming focused on understanding Unconscious Bias, leadership development and networking
  • Present an overview to senior leaders to highlight project accomplishments
  • Collaborate with the Solutions team to execute upon implementation deliverables
  • Support the core project management team in the development of presentation materials to stakeholders, manage core meetings, and organization of relevant documentation
  • Project management support of programmatic development
  • Market research and competitive landscape analysis
  • Support communication with DFCI leadership, including development of meeting materials (e.g., agendas, presentation slide deck, financial reporting summaries, etc.), develops and presents updates / metric reports and other written materials (e.g., business plans, etc.)
  • This job is designated as remote. Work may need to be performed onsite (Boston, MA) up to one day per week. Remote work may only be performed from MA, RI, or NH.

Qualifications

  • Graduate student preferred.
  • Demonstrated organizational framework, with project management and critical thinking skills, who is able to apply creative tactics for problem solving
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required including expert Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Ability to work well with other team members
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently on new and existing projects
  • Possess the ability to converse effectively and comfortably, prepare proposals, analysis, and other documents in a manner readily assimilated by target audiences
  • Experience with health tech, management consulting, business planning and/or product development
  • Demonstrates self-awareness, strong professionalism, a strong work ethic and the ability to handle difficult situations effectively and efficiently
  • Strong leadership skills, as well as the ability to work closely and effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Deals well with uncertainty and ambiguity; flexible with changes in prioritization and approach

Compensation for this position will be $16/hour for rising undergraduate seniors and $20/hour for graduate students.
