BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNEMENT:


The World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.

We are currently seeking dynamic Communications Consultant to join the Front Office team of the Human Resources Division.

The Human Resources Division is all about people. With a team of about 300 in HQ and more than 700 globally, this function works at the strategic and operational levels to ensure that WFP has the right people in place to deliver on its mandate. The Front Office represents the top management of the HR Division and their support staff, which includes a Senior Communications Officer, to whom this position reports. Working in this team, you’ll have the opportunity to gain a bird’s-eye view of people management in an organization of 20,000 people.


ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assist in the development of tools for HR communications initiatives
  • Assist in layout and formatting of presentations, reports, and documents
  • Produce infographics and multimedia products as needed
  • Assist in production and follow-up of meetings, online events, and brown bag sessions
  • Produce and maintain onboarding resources for new recruits in HR
  • Drive a culture of engagement as a community manager for HRM Yammer page
  • Perform editorial duties for internal HR pages on WFP Go as needed
  • Other duties as required

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:


  • tools for HR communications initiatives and campaigns, including PPTs, reports and documents, as well as infographics and multmedia products
  • organization of HR meetings and engagement events
  • onboarding resources for new HR recruits in HRM
  • expanded and engaged HR community on Yammer (including editorial and engagement plan and measurable results)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


Education:


Postgraduate degree in Human Resources related field (including Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, etc).


Experience:


1-3 years demonstrated experience as a successful communicator in a professional environment.


Experience of working in an international / UN environment, especially in a remote context.


Knowledge and Skills:


Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with a specific emphasis on PowerPoint and basic graphic design software. Video editing and multimedia production skills.


Languages:


Excellent command of English; another UN language is desirable.

contract type and selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.
