Are you seeking a part-time internship to learn more about the corporate work environment? Do you want to be a part of something bigger? Join our team! You will play an essential role in helping our members access their health insurance.

The Cash Management Intern performs cash management operations involving payment receipt, processing, deposit and other duties with accuracy and timeliness. Assists in the controls, balances and deposits of daily cash receipts to maximize return; coordinates with other departments within the corporation to achieve this task. Analyzes and researches incoming payments and reconciles daily deposits and cash transactions to assure that corporate funds/assets are maintained and assets are protected.

In this role you will:

  • Open and sort mail
  • Enter information into the data processing system
  • Operates and maintains daily operations payment processing and depositing equipment and software.
  • Coordinates and works with equipment/software and external vendors to resolve processing issues.
  • Process various miscellaneous types of receipts and ensure their timely deposit as well as providing proper notification to other departments
  • Research and identify all miscellaneous payments to accurately and efficiently identify and process payments in a timely manner
  • Balance daily deposit of cash and checks and ensure accuracy through communication and coordination with other departments
  • Assist Customer Service units with questions as they relate to the receipt of checks and processing of payments
  • Prepare and secure all checks for deposit, meeting daily deadlines, coordinates with armored car and courier service for pick-up of locked bags, boxes and tapes
  • Take on more complex tasks under minimal to no supervision after you have been trained

Combine your education and prior experience to meet the position qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in community college, college or university studying Accounting, Business or a related degree program
  • Prior data entry experience a plus
  • Ability to think analytically and make sound judgments from analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.0
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
