Northrop Grumman is seeking an IT Desktop Support Intern to join the Enterprise Services Extended Desktop Support team. The will be located Promontory, UT and/or Magna, UT.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector ES Launch Missile Defense Systems PMO.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist IT staff with daily operational tasks and help employees with tech-related questions
- Troubleshoot and solve issues with endpoints, servers, networks and other systems
- Train and help employees use internal systems and software
- Research new technologies, adoption, and implementation strategies
- Create and maintain documentation
- Perform hardware and software installation procedures
- Document IT processes, develop action plans, track progress
- Assist in hardware and software inventory management
- Assist users with their information technology questions and problems
- Provide onsite IT field support
Basic Qualifications
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
- Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate Information Technology degree from an accredited college/university
- Be available to work part-time (15-25 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during spring 2022.
- Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance if necessary (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
- Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
- Familiar with technical PC operations and troubleshooting (Windows OS, Networking, RDP, etc.)
- Proficient in Excel i.e. pivot tables; VLookup; charts; data manipulation
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs
- Ability to prioritize tasks and efficiently manage time
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints
- Demonstrated problem solving skills, strong conceptual and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
Intern Pay Range:
Bachelor’s: $20.75 to $25.75 per hour
Master’s: $30.50 to $32.25 per hour
