IoT Research Intern

Summary

Hitachi has established the Financial Innovation Laboratory at the Silicon Valley site of its Global Center for Social Innovation in Santa Clara, California. The lab is focused on FinTech and InsureTech - using technology as an enabler of innovative financial and insurance products. All our projects revolve around data and use data science and machine learning to create economic, social, and environmental value.

The lab seeks an intern to work on one of several research problems.

Qualifications:

• Current enrollment in MS or PhD program in physics, chemistry, statistics, economics, finance, applied sciences, computer science or related field is required.
• Good programming skills. Experience using Python, R, or Matlab is required.
• Deep domain knowledge in at least one of the following areas is required:
  • Machine learning
  • Material science (Electrochemistry, Thermodynamics or Statistical Mechanics)
  • Actuarial science
  • Bank regulation
  • Battery technology
• Good communication skills and remote work skills
