Job Description
INTERNSHIP OBJECTIVES:
Takeda's summer internship program blends real world experience with an extensive overview of the pharmaceutical industry. Knowledgeable mentors will provide guidance as you gain professional hands-on experience. The summer internship program is 12 weeks in length and offers a unique perspective into a world-class pharmaceutical company. Compensation is competitive, and financed temporary housing is available to those who qualify. Our internship program also provides you the opportunity to network with people at Takeda through various planned events and activities.
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
US Medical Affairs Oncology (USMAO) consists of two broad teams: home office medical and field medical. Critical tactics for home office include advisory boards and brand planning, and for field medical, it is development of an aligned strategic plan for the field team(s), and successful tactical execution of a territory management.
At Takeda, there exists a need for continuous improvement to enable a high-performing culture with the following aims: 1) standardize the processes for these activities across multiple therapeutic areas within the US portfolio, 2) leverage technology solutions, and 3) create efficiencies to ensure successful execution.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Accountabilities:
Summary of baseline findings and recommendations for focus areas
Analysis of pain points and efficiency areas (e.g., time or cost savings)
Proposals for new templates, tools and process or personnel
Highlights of best practices and lessons learned
Must be deadline driven and have a high level of organizational and planning skills
Key Learnings:
Exposure to key stakeholders within USOBU including home office and field medical
Application of business skills related to strategy, continuous improvement, stakeholder communication and project management
Understanding of pharmaceutical compliance and processes
REQUIREMENTS
Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis
Must be available full time (40 hours/week) for a minimum of 12 weeks during the Summer months
Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0
Graduate, MBA, or PhD, MD student with at least one year of university studies prior to internship
Returning to university for at least one semester post-internship
Global mindset to thrive in a diverse work environment
Excellent communication and leadership skills
A major in business, a healthcare, pharmacy, or life science field is preferred.
Location & Salary Information:
- Summer 2022 Internship role will be either hybrid in Cambridge, MA or remotely based
- Intern pay rate ranges are from $18/hour to $45/hour, depending on students level in their undergraduate or graduate program and level professional experience
