Working with the Revenue Lifecycle Management (Renewals Sales) team on the Strategy Planning & Operations side, you will gain exposure to all areas of the business by rotating between the various business functions. These include Governance & Measurements, M&A Integration, Business Process Standardization, People Programs, and Business Program Management. The Strategy, Planning & Operations team’s goal is to reduce complexity across the Revenue Lifecycle Management organization’s business functions, by providing globally-aligned structure, agility and scale mechanisms. In this non-technical role, you will work on projects that have a deep impact on several areas of the organization and will provide you with exposure to Renewals Sr. Management. You will feel at home working collaboratively with many different teams. You will be introduced to many new concepts and technologies which will further expand your learnings. Teamwork is very important and at the forefront of the team.
Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes you will work toward completing?
Build your personal brand and learn the structures and policies of the organization
Gain an understanding of the five business functions within the Strategy, Planning & Operations team and their role within the RLM organization
Obtain an understanding of how the various support functions including Finance, Sales Operations, Deal Management, and others work with the team
Complete meaningful projects within the various functions that have a lasting impact on the RLM business
You will need to demonstrate the ability to make good decisions in the spirit of the strategic direction of the organization, while maintaining comfort with the ambiguity inherent in a strategy and operations role
At the conclusion of the internship, you will present your analysis and recommendations to the SPO team for potential future implementation
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Your regular activities may include some of the following projects across the various business functions, but will also evolve depending on business needs:
Ensuring a smooth transition into our sales environment for newly acquired companies
Renewals playbook for integrations
Renewals Mentor Program: Analyze data from the feedback from quarter prior to gain insights into how the program in each geo is performing.
Win Stories and Channels: Assist with the program for both the SRAMs and GCS where the program will be live in.
Professional Development: Taking the feedback for the people’s programs from the surveys provided by VoB and to pitch ideas for implementing changes for development/engagements to improve satisfaction.
Research and analyze software industry best practices and business intelligence information sources to synthesize and share with broader organization
Develop and manage quarterly Focus On Webinars to inform and educate team on timely and relevant topics
Improve the Revenue Lifecycle Management SharePoint platform, e.g. indexing, categorizing, and improving user interface for a more intuitive user experience
Review Internal and External Tools and Systems, and provide recommendations on changes to improve business efficiency across the organization

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?
The Hiring Manager for this role is the Head of the Governance & Measurements team. He is based in Palo Alto (now working remotely) and has been with VMware for 7 years now in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility within Finance, Operations, and Strategy. He is passionate about helping people succeed and believes that people grow by allowing them to be leaders in everything they do. The team is distributed and works from different parts of the world, but is primarily in the US. The team culture is very open, inviting, analytical, and collaborative.
Where is this role located?
Remote: This role is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from the location you feel most productive and comfortable. You will be expected to live within 0-4 time zones of the primary location.
