Enterprise Risk Office Summer Internship
Duration: June 6 - August 19, 2022
Due to the complexity of the COVID-19 pandemic, this internship will likely be entirely remote, depending on PSCU's onsite business practices by Summer 2022, there is a chance that we may host onsite meetings or events in St. Petersburg, FL

Enterprise Risk Office
The Enterprise Risk Office (ERO) collaborates with PSCU business units to protect the integrity of our company and inspire others to think differently about risk. ERO acts as a strategic business partner, collaborating with all departments and is made up of the following teams: Enterprise Risk Management, Investigations & Corporate Fraud, Vendor Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Legal, and Business Continuity. Working with the Enterprise Risk Office, your contributions will impact strategic objectives and enable PSCU to deliver on our mission to provide an unparalleled experience for our employees and the financial institutions we serve.

Enterprise Risk Management – facilitates the management of diverse risks across PSCU to support successful achievement of strategic objectives.

Investigations & Corporate Fraud – investigates alleged fraud initiated by employees, our vendors, or credit union employees; maintains system to supervise activity for potential inappropriate behavior; and manages the overall incident response during a major event.

Vendor Risk Management – provides on-going support to PSCU in various subject areas related to third party vendors; the daily tasks include: vendor onboarding, vendor governance, and vendor contract administration.

Regulatory Compliance – partners with the business units to ensure that transactions and operating procedures are conducted in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements that impact PSCU and our financial institutions.

Legal – create or assess, negotiate, and implement all client, vendor, and partner contracts that require legal review.

Business Continuity – helps prepare PSCU business units to respond to, and if necessary, recover from any type of business continuity event.

Enterprise Risk Office Internship
Goals and Objectives
The intern will work cross-functionally with the Enterprise Risk Management teams within the Enterprise Risk Office to, among other things:

Collaborate with risk owners, and/or business unit leaders in participation of risk assessments, including analysis of stated controls, identifying gaps, and facilitating the creation of management action plans.

Gather and analyze organizational risk information to support necessary inputs into, and deliverables related to, the risk management committee meetings and related reporting.

Provide necessary risk register updates and related analysis to allow consistent and accurate risk reporting.

Develop, and/or gather insights into, key reporting metrics and/or key risk indicators.

Assist in implementing enhancements to PSCU’s Integrated Risk Management (IRM) solution/platform.

Perform other duties as assigned.

The PSCU’s Summer Internship Program provides you – a junior or senior undergraduate student - with the chance to develop and hone your skills in business. We offer the opportunity to build for your future by learning firsthand the Financial and more specifically Credit Union industry through professional inter-organizational experience, coupled with focused learning opportunities in your chosen career path or developmental interest. You’ll also gain insight into our rich history, our unique culture, and our committed social conscience.
Over the course of this 10-week program, it is PSCU's goal to provide our interns not only with a real job experience that better prepares future graduates for their chosen profession, but to provide them the knowledge and experience vital to navigate a business environment.
In our program, interns will engage with a group of their peers in acquiring a knowledge foundation in Credit Unions, the financial industry, Six Sigma, preparing for a job search, presentation skills, and more. You will also be given opportunities to network directly with industry leaders at PSCU.

PSCU Intern Program Entry Qualifications

Completion of sophomore or junior year in an accredited undergraduate degree program with at least a 3.0/4.0 GPA at time of application.

Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate thoughts, and communicate completely and concisely.

Organizational skills and proven attention to details, with the ability to consistently perform as business requests.

Critical thinking, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Ability to adjust easily when directions and priorities change on short notice.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite® with a heavy emphasis on Excel.

Proficiency in software that applies to your major and function-specific internship.

Passion for learning the Credit Union Industry.

Enterprise Risk Office Internship Requirements

Familiarity with data analysis, general business, and risk management concepts.

Inquisitive nature, resourceful, and ability to seek out information

Ability to maintain confidentiality of PSCU’s work processes and corporate and client information

Ability to analyze and understand data and data relationships, and translate analytical results into written reports

Familiarity with GRC (Governance – Risk – Compliance) systems is a plus.
