Junior Accountant

Rep Data is looking for a high-performing Junior Accountant to serve as an integral member of our Accounting & Finance team. The ideal candidate will be a curious, thoughtful, and enthusiastic individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced and frequently changing tech environment.
This role’s duties will evolve as the company evolves but main responsibilities and skills required:
Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparing accurate and timely monthly financial statements. This includes booking journal entries and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Work with external auditors and accountants to complete audit and tax returns.
  • Assist clients, vendors, and employees with inquiries and provide exceptional customer service. Includes monitoring accounting emails and handling issues in a timely manner (i.e., within 24 hours).
  • Handle collection of past due invoices from clients. Ensure that Accounts Receivable balances remain at a healthy level and work to resolve any collections issues.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable invoice review, vendor payment, and 1099 tracking.
  • Complete daily bank account reconciliation with little to no errors.
  • Assist with any accounting and finance-related special projects that may arise.
  • Book and review employee expense reimbursement requests in a timely manner and without reminders. Ability to review information and provide insight to senior management on impact.
  • Assist with new accounting and finance-related software implementations to ensure a smooth and effective transition.
  • Send manual customer invoices as needed and provide updates to customers in a timely manner.

Required Education and Experience:
Undergraduate degree in accounting or business with two to five years of job experience in accounting.
The following items are not required but are considered a plus:

  • CPA Certification
  • Experience with accounting system migration and implementation
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, Netsuite, Abacus, Tipalti, Salesforce
