Hosted Ops Engineer
As a Junior DevOps Engineer you will join our Cloud Operations team. The Cloud Operations team is responsible for the availability and scalability of our 24x7 SaaS and Cloud environments. This team also manages and maintains Development and QA infrastructure and is vital for orchestrating the deployment pipeline for all of our SaaS applications.
Our work environment is global (multiple time zones), fast-paced and forward thinking.
This is a junior level position and can be remote - US. Must have requirements include Windows administration, some cloud knowledge and PowerShell.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the production platforms based on Windows and UNIX technologies hosted in various Cloud providers.
Manage non-production environments for development, performance testing, and validation testing.
Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues.
Treat automation as an opportunity, instead of a threat to job security.
Help build and operate systems for a rapidly growing SaaS and Cloud infrastructure.
Help identify, resolve and prevent existing and future system bottleneck issues
Help manage all of the Operation team’s system and storage environments
Help implement and manage system monitoring, efficiency, and performance tools
Work with the Operation team leaders in the implementation of the computing infrastructure
Provide technical assistance to developers, testers, and engineers to unify operational efforts
Help develop installation and deployment scripts
Works well in a team environment with a strong customer service ethic
Explore concepts, ideas, and new technology to create novel solutions to problems
Must be detail-oriented
Skills We're Looking For:
Ability to successfully complete project tasks as priorities shift
Demonstrated experience supporting Windows Operating systems in 24x7 Production environments
Knowledge of Windows Server tools and administration
Knowledge of Windows PowerShell
Experience with Virtual deployments
Network administration including VPN configuration
Understanding of networking concepts such as routing, gateways, remote connectivity, etc.
Ability to directly work with peer groups (spread globally), customers, and vendors to understand needs and requirements
Excellent verbal and written communications including documentation
Driven and self-motivated to learn new technologies and achieve objectives
Ability to work independently
Good organization skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred:
Experience supporting Azure and/or AWS workloads
Experience with Systems Automation tools for standardizing server builds
SQL (or other database) Server configuration, backup, and maintenance
Monitoring system configuration
Network administration including VPN configuration
