Position Summary

The ideal candidate has strong quantitative abilities and is comfortable working independently and taking initiative to start new assignments. Must be highly organized, self-motivated, detail oriented, and committed to producing work of the highest quality.

The essential functions of this position include the following:

  • Process incoming invoices and payments
  • Reconcile monthly credit card statements
  • Input and validate Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable transactions into financial accounting software
  • Process biweekly check runs and ACH payments
  • Create and maintain monthly hour and expenditure reports for use by project leaders
  • Maintain monthly contract/subcontract backlog
  • Assist in preparation of annual financial statements and vendor tax forms
  • Aid in preparation of reports to ensure compliance with various government contracting, HR, and other federal reporting regulations
  • Maintain company accounting and contract files
  • Support management and coordination of contracts and subcontracts
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration (or similar degree) with a concentration in accounting (or the expected completion of a bachelor’s degree in the next 6 months) or with completion of basic coursework in both financial and managerial accounting
  • 2+ years related experience in accounting or general business operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Familiarity with accounting software
  • Familiarity with government contracting, especially familiarity with the FAR
