Hy-Vee, Inc. is a progressive company working on a rollout to update the Point of Sale (POS) technologies across all retail locations. The Information Technology department has an internship position available as a POS Administrator. This position is based out of our Grimes, IA office. This position will work closely with our POS Administration team and is geared for individuals pursuing a degree in Information Technology. Tasks include performing pre-work to prepare sites for go-live, optimizing data files, helping troubleshoot technical issues with remote technicians, as well as various other maintenance and support tasks. You will work with various systems to perform updates and test new software. This position is flexible to work around school commitments. Some travel to remote locations may be required. The work will begin February 2022 and conclude in December 2022. There is a potential to extend the position into June of 2023. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.

1. Create scripts for updating and administering windows based POS systems.

2. Assist with updates and testing of payment card reader devices.

3. Troubleshoot technical issues with remote technicians.

4. Coordinate site issues with Hy-Vee vendors and internal support teams.

5. Perform pre-work (site setup, etc.) the week before each location goes live.

6. Communicate with store and corporate personal and vendors.

Previous Hy-Vee experience and a strong technical background is preferred.

Selected candidates will work 15 hours or more per week during the school year - and up to 40 hours per week from June till August. Candidates for this position will ideally reside in the Des Moines, IA area. This position is eligible for remote work for the right candidate. Travel outside of this area and overnight stays may be required.
