Editorial Intern
Dictionary.com’s editorial intern will assist the editorial team with day-to-day activities including:
Core job responsibilities:
- Inputting editorial content into WordPress
- Assisting the Managing Editor in setting up an editorial calendar
- Inputting quizzes and checking answers weekly
- Fixing broken interlinks in published articles with lists from analytics
- Updating images for articles and adding alt text
- Brainstorming content ideas for articles on site, including new slang words, emoji, quiz topics, slideshows, and video ideas
- Updating content lists for analytics teams
- Fixing interest tagging in WordPress for articles to align with new product and project goals
- Implementing SEO metadata and edits to published pieces
- Implementing UX improvements to published pieces
Candidate should have:
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Writing experience and ability to write clearly and concisely
- Knowledge of working in WordPress or other CMS and spreadsheets
- Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable with the ability to multitask
