One way we achieve this goal is through The Motley Fool's personal finance brand, The Ascent. The Ascent team rates and reviews financial products, like credit cards, savings accounts, mortgage lenders, and stock brokerages. We also provide jargon-free advice on topics ranging from how to get out of debt to choosing the best insurance for a rainy day.

For eight Foolish weeks as an Editorial Intern, you'll be embedded with The Ascent team that manages, edits, and publishes free content on our website that receives several million monthly sessions.

In this internship, you will have hands-on experience working with The Ascent's content strategists to brainstorm, pitch, execute, and publish free articles focused on a wide array of personal finance topics. You will also gain exposure to SEO best practices, digital marketing, data analytics tools, UX/UI, and technology development. You'll be challenged and mentored by some of our greatest editors all summer. In turn, you'll develop and refine skills around personal finances, all aspects of digital publishing, and marketing that will set you apart from your peers. This isn't the "fetch coffee and screen our emails" type of internship; we're invested in your growth and your future success!

This is a paid full-time (40 hrs/wk) internship from June - July, 2022, that will be fully remote, although we have office locations in Denver, CO and Alexandria, VA. What you need to succeed:

• Passion for personal finance, digital publishing, and Fool.com's mission of Smarter, Happier, and Richer.
• Drive to research and brainstorm and courage to pitch out-of-this-world ideas.
• Writing and communication skills.
• Ability to stay organized while managing several projects and follow through on tasks in a timely way.
• Readiness to dive into content performance metrics, spot useful information, and put it to use.
• Willingness to accept and give constructive feedback graciously.
• Flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What would be really cool of you to have, but is not required:

• Experience in publishing, journalism, content marketing, or digital media.
• Interest in learning about business development projects focused on diversity, inclusion, belonging, and succeeding.
• Experience producing video or audio content.
• Familiarity with basic concepts of investing and personal finance.
• Experience using a CMS.
• An attitude of taking your work seriously - but not yourself.
