4ocean is a mission-driven for-profit business, dedicated to removing trash from our oceans and coastlines while inspiring individuals to work together for cleaner oceans. Founded In 2017, 4ocean was created with the mission to sell a product that would enable the company to fund a worldwide cleanup initiative. This is how our first product, the 4ocean bracelet, was born. Made from recycled materials, every bracelet and numerous other products purchased funds the removal of one pound of trash from the ocean, rivers and coastlines. In less than four years, we have sold enough bracelets and other products to enable us to pull more than 19 million pounds of trash from the ocean.
Bracelet sales are just the beginning. We are building and selling an assortment of high quality, sustainably made products that will help people reduce their dependence on single-use plastic, reuse the materials we collect from the ocean, and celebrate the 4ocean brand and ocean-conscious lifestyle.
Beyond our products, we combat the ocean plastic crisis through technology, cleanups, influence, and education. We are a for-profit business, because we believe in creating sustainable, profitable business models around cleaning the ocean rather than relying on external funding. Our ocean clean-up operations, currently in the U.S., Haiti, Guatemala and Indonesia, are meticulously documented and audited for transparency, and are regularly expanding to new locations and deploying new clean-up technologies. As of December 2021, our operations employ over 300 people around the world, pulling trash seven days a week.
About This Position
We are seeking a web developer who is interested in being a part of a mission for good. If you are eager to learn, ready to get started and be a part of a team that impacts the world for good, check out the desired qualifications.
Desired Qualifications:

• 1-3 Years of experience in Web Development
• General experience building, launching, and maintaining stores, as well as general knowledge of the admin system
• Demonstrable expertise with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, with an in-depth understanding of DOM
• Experience with working with a made theme and/or Storefront API
• Experience with Shopify's theming system and Liquid templating
• Experience with implementing/debugging 3rd party Shopify apps as well as creating custom solutions if necessary
• Experience with Shopify's object/properties, AJAX API, and Meta fields
• General understanding and experience with vanilla JavaScript, jQuery, ES2015/ES6, and a modern JavaScript framework such as React
• General understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Thorough testing and debugging skills with browser console and external tools
• Experience developing responsive layouts for a desktop, tablet, and mobile
• Experience working with 3rd party services, and APIs, specifically plugins for Shopify
• Ability to communicate well and receive proactive feedback from peers and team
• Good organizational skills
• A passion for saving the oceans, a positive attitude, and a great sense of humor!!

Compensation package: ~$60k/annually depending on experience, medical/dental/vision, PTO, and a 9/80 work schedule (alternate Fridays off!). This position is remote so you can be anywhere !
