The Global External Communications & PR team is seeking a part-time intern for the Spring 2022 semester.

As a Global External Communications & PR Intern, you will support the global media relations efforts, anchoring messaging to the company’s purpose and narrative, while working closely with key stakeholders and team members to share the Iron Mountain story. You will write a variety of communications that enhance company messaging and tell the Iron Mountain story.

This person is a strong writer and communicator who can connect the messaging across the company’s portfolio, effectively translating strategic messaging into the appropriate mix of compelling and timely media relations strategies, tactics, initiatives and programs to tell the Iron Mountain growth story.

This position reports to the Sr Manager Global External Communications & PR and sits within the company’s Global Communications Centers of Excellence.

This is a part-time, remote-based, paid spring internship, starting in January 2022. While you may be located anywhere in the U.S., you will be expected to be available during core Central/East Coast business hours at least 15 hours per week.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop thoughtful and interesting content for communication opportunities, including press releases, news bytes, byline articles, blogs, messaging documents, talking points, executive bios, and speaking opportunities abstracts
  • Follow AP style and tone of voice guidelines in writing and editing copy
  • Monitor and stay informed of key issues and trends impacting the industry and distill meaningful insights from media coverage; proactively share relevant findings internally
  • Maintain the PR content calendar
  • Develop Global PR and media relations 101 (education) for internal stakeholders
  • Assist in the development of global PR and media relations toolkit

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a BS or MS degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or related field
  • Must be currently enrolled as a student in an accredited college or university
  • Must have the legal right to work in the U.S.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including writing, editing and proofreading
  • Ability to manage multiple writing assignments, and work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and proven ability to prioritize, organize, schedule, self-manage, and coordinate projects
  • Proficient with G-Suite
  • Strong analytical skills
