US Municipality Energy & Infrastructure Market Intern
Material created by internship will be used to target and provide thought leadership for the value of active energy management, distributed microgrids, and renewable energy in the California Municipal market (others my apply) to deliver cost assurance, clean/renewable energy, and resilient energy to vertical market partners.
This material created should:
- Help translate state legislature and policy into actionable energy project suggestions & aid in the understanding of new energy policy leading to faster adoption or electric vehicles and renewable energy solutions
- Emphasize the value of resiliency & sustainability – conveying the practicality of microgrids with the integration of electric vehicles into places of work, home, ports and municipalities as primary destination charging
For operations reporting & success tracking:
Internship recipient will act as the HISTORIAN for the work completed during the internship timeline. All work to be documented in a weekly operations report to show meetings held, meetings joined, objectives and progress updates on action items with recommended next steps, notation of items completed, and action items recommended for discovery or initiation.
- May be asked to research electric vehicle (EV) related bills or participating in state-level activities sponsored by Government Relations calls for coverage and insight on grant strategies for the greater organization.
It is expected that the internship will be entirely remote.

Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Successful candidates will interpret ongoing state policy for electrification & infrastructure and provide outbound message development in-line with the Infrastructure & Build Back Better plan – with special focus on key geographies (such as CA, but could also involve ports, municipalities, buildings, and water/wastewater focus)
- Assist both the commercial and government relations/state policy organization with lobbying efforts and grant writing strategy
- Develop marketing communication and sales aid campaigns to assist the commercial team with key value to be delivered by Schneider Electric and our strategic partners in alliance pursuits and campaigns under NDA, where applicable
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications Must be enrolled as a full-time student in Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree program. GPA of 3.0 preferred but not required.

- Background in state policy and energy
- Experience with all MS Office suite – Powerpoint and Excel
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Working understanding of power systems
- Background in power flow, supply / demand of energy economics
- Ability to present technical results to a wide audience of stakeholders
