The Disney Music Group (DMG) includes Walt Disney Records, WDR, (its label imprints Disney Pearl, Disney Sound, and Buena Vista), Hollywood Records, HWR, (its label imprint Mammoth Records), Lyric Street Records and Disney Music Publishing. DMG is a business unit operating under the Studio Entertainment business segment of The Walt Disney Company (TWDC). DMG is responsible for releasing music content created by all divisions of TWDC, including but not limited to Pixar, LucasFilm, MARVEL, ABC, Fox Film and TV Studios, and Disney+.

Responsibilities :
A Day in the Life

As part of DMG, Metadata Operations lives within the Production and Distribution Team. Top level responsibilities are: data normalization and cleansing and manual data clean up in two main databases, Wonderland (DAM) and Dnote (historical repertoire database). This includes daily interaction with the asset, product development and digital distribution teams and other departments within DMG as needed.

You will…
  • Under the supervision of the Curation Specialist, curate, modify and edit metadata for the library’s digital resources using the library’s digital asset management system and historical repertoire database
  • Work closely with our Product Development and Asset team to fine tune best practices
  • Attend data curation working group meetings CPM/CTaM focus sessions, DAM focus sessions, Dnote training/working sessions and production meetings as needed
  • Develop knowledge of DMG releases
  • Develop collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the company
  • Stay current on metadata best practices and international standards

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Music Industry experience
  • Database usage and ability to understand data structures
  • Understanding of metadata standards and experience with nomenclature

Required Education :
  • Currently enrolled as a senior or must have graduated within the past 6 months from an accredited college/university, earning a degree

Additional Information :
  • At the time of application, must be enrolled as a senior in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program, concurrent to this internship
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Work Environment
  • This internship will be located in Burbank, CA and interns must be able to provide their own housing and reliable transportation to and from work
    • This will be a hybrid working situation with some days in the office and some days working remotely each week
      • The internship requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated work space for working remotely.
