Position Overview:

This is being posted as a remote position. Intern will support continuous flow of indirect materials and services in support of manufacturing, facilities, engineering, and all other functional areas of the business. Intern will work in both a strategic and tactical capacity to assist the procurement organization with executing orders & contracts. Intern will handle various projects to support continuous improvement efforts related to the Interiors Indirect Supply Chain Organization. This is a full-time, 3 month Summer Internship.

Primary Responsibilities:

The statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this job.   • Purchase services and MRO items for indirect/non-product procurement

  • Status purchase orders with suppliers and internal customers

  • Obtain schedule and delivery confirmations from suppliers

  • Evaluate supplier quotes and services to determine most desirable source of supply and create the necessary purchase justifications

  • Manage material shortages and expedites

  • Resolve receipt and invoice discrepancies

  • Execute process improvements and participate in lean manufacturing events

  • Participate in the implementation and execution of commodity strategies to include spend analysis, inventory analysis, supplier rationalization and year over year cost savings

  • Negotiate with the supply base for reduced pricing and payment terms improvements

  • Support strategic supply chain projects in support of central or plant-site goals

  • Create and present metrics and supporting reports to suppliers, peers, and managers

  • Implement cost savings projects across the organization

  • Adhere to all RTX rules and codes of conduct

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

Must be a U.S. citizen
