Monitoring and Evaluation Micro-Internship - Remote

INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
As part of the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) unit, the M&E Intern will work closely with the Global Health unit measuring project and programmatic performance of the sub-programs including Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Malaria, HIV, Nutrition and Health System Strengthening, U.S. Health, etc.
At the institutional level, the M&E Intern will provide support in developing tools for an Abundant Health evaluation which will include the above listed sub-programs. The intern will be responsible for researching data collection methodologies for the respective sectors and developing quantitative and qualitative tools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review the Abundant Health Initiative evaluation plan and methodology including the framework with listed indicators.
- In consultation with the M&E Director, research and develop evaluation tools for the Abundant Health evaluation based on evidence-based practices.
- Develop training curriculum for the tools that have been developed.
- In collaboration with the M&E unit, oversee evaluation activities including identifying evaluation needs and support in the tool development process as needed.
- Master’s in international development, public health, or other relevant social science field preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in planning, design and implementation of M&E systems.
- International NGO field experience in monitoring and evaluation of relevant program areas such as health, sanitation, poverty reduction, sustainable agriculture, nutrition, or food security.
- Sound knowledge of the logical framework approach and other strategic planning approaches. Familiarity with a wide range of M&E methods and approaches (quantitative and qualitative methods).
- Excellent training and capacity building skills in M&E systems implementation at field level
- Good knowledge of facilitating learning-oriented analysis sessions of M&E data with staff and stakeholders.
- Good contextual knowledge of development issues, and a solid understanding of rural development.
- Strong quantitative skills of analyzing data using Excel and SPSS; Familiarity with databases is preferred.
- Proficiency in French or Portuguese preferred.
- Experience at cross-cultural communication techniques.
- Be a strong team player and adept at creating a strong team spirit.

- FLSA Status: Part-Time (17 hours a week)
- Location: Remote
- Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm (Monday – Friday with flexible start/end time
