Intern, Strategic Foresight
Position Overview
As a 2022 Summer Intern within our Strategic Foresight team, you will help to uncover the future of Autodesk. The Strategic Foresight team helps continuously identify and articulate long-term forces of change and their implications to reveal critical insights shaping Autodesk’s future. Through storytelling, quantitative foresight techniques, and thought leadership, the team works with Autodesk leaders to address and shape a preferable future that delivers value for Autodesk customers and Autodesk’s business. You’ll work across the wide variety of Autodesk industries (Architecture, Engineering, & Construction; Product Design & Manufacturing; Media & Entertainment) helping develop strategic insight to drive change. As you work across the different groups within Autodesk, you will get to work with a diverse team of people so Autodesk solutions can provide insights for more sustainable design, transform and configure design content, and accelerate user learning and improve productivity.
Responsibilities
- Formulate concepts – both editorial and visual – and collaboratively develop and ideate them
- Quantify impacts – analyze data that suggest emerging trends
- Synthesize diverse inputs into the construction of coherent and compelling narratives
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be actively enrolled in a degree granting academic institution or accredited boot camp at the time of internship
- Must reside and be attending university in the country where the internship is being offered
- Can weave together analysis and synthesis to discover new patterns
- Has past evidence of working on teams
- Has strong multi-disciplinary research skills (comfortable with the normal academic/business database systems) to actively perform research to inform Autodesk’s understanding of current technological and socioeconomic trends
- Has proven writing skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Has knowledge related to the industries Autodesk serves (AEC, PD&M, M&E)
- Has a portfolio with a project that includes quantitative analysis
- Expresses an interest in storytelling and speculative design/future studies/foresight
- Wants to use the internship to get big things done
- Has a sense of humor
- Uses visual skills to debate ideas
About the U.S. Intern Program
The U.S. program runs from May through August for 12 weeks and will be remote (subject to change). All internships are paid. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, be mentored by industry leaders, work alongside peers from universities all over the country and participate in tech talks and other activities designed to support your personal and professional development.
