Chatbot Development Internship
The Chatbot Development Internship provides an opportunity to gain experience in AI and chatbot development concepts, as well as Natural Language Processing (NLP) inherent to chatbot development. This position will work as part of a team to identify needs and deliver chatbot functionality.
The Chatbot Development Intern will be actively involved in the continual improvement and design of the Bon Secours Mercy Health Chatbot on the Kore.ai platform. This includes gathering data regarding usage and performance, and working with the team to use training models to enhance bot functionality.

Remote – Work at Home
Dates: Monday, May 23rd, 2021 - Friday, August 5th, 2021
Hours: 40 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks
Responsibilities:
- Clarify requests for chatbot development
- Work with development team to implement solutions, manage request intake process, and deliver services
- Collect and analyze user data to determine NLP activities
- Engage in natural language analysis and train the chatbot in applicable responses
- Translate storyboards into chatbot design
- Engage in testing and verification of performance and functionality
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a technology/developer related degree program
- Excellent English language skills to apply to NLP activities
- Ability to understand customer needs and requests and translate those into technical solutions
- Ability to work with ambiguous instructions in a team problem-solving environment
- Experience creating automations, apps, web applications, or chatbots is helpful
- Technical skills such as JavaScript, HTML5, Python, SQL are all helpful
