We are currently seeking a Cloud Engineering Co-op/Intern for Spring and Summer 2022 (Starting January 2022 and working through August 2022.) This position is located in Columbus, Ohio. Opportunity for remote work is also available.

JOB SUMMARY

The Co-op/Intern will support our Corporate Information Technology groups work around migration to Cloud resources. This position will support Senior Engineers as they work across departments and operations to design and implement tools that automate infrastructure configuration, provision, build, and deployments. This position will assist in driving the direction and execution of major cloud initiatives for Battelle while ensuring compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with other team members to design, build, modify, and implement automated modules and code using Azure ARM templates, Terraform and Github
  • Follow governance and security requirements and documentation to code, modify and create automated modules for assigned projects
  • Support data management actives by and designing data tagging methodologies using a wide variety of tools and data management standards
  • Manage and migrate workloads to cloud environments using automated processes
  • Be able to understand compliance regulations and convert to actionable tasks in cloud platforms
  • Reviews system requirements and business processes
  • Works independently and as a member of a multi-functional, dynamic team
  • Support system testing as needed

THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED

  • Currently pursuing a bachelors or master’s degree in computer science, information science, computer engineering, or systems engineering
  • Sophomore standing or higher
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Experience with Azure, AWS or GCP cloud platforms including security and monitoring
  • Knowledge of basic IT infrastructure (DNS, Networking, Windows Server OS, Linux)
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple concurrent development projects
  • Applicants for this position must be a U.S. Person, as defined by U.S. export control laws

THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED

  • Prior internship or research experience is preferred
  • Understanding of source code control (GitHub)
  • Understanding of microservices such as Kubernetes, Terraform
  • Understanding of Azure GOV cloud
