Jr. Software Developer - 100% Remote

The Jr. Software Developer's functions will include development, transitioning support, testing, conducting knowledge transfer, workflow documentation, technical documentation, and creating work scope for an expanding set of Radian Mortgage Insurance and Services related applications. They will be troubleshooting code issues, debugging application events, researching data anomalies, creating, and updating knowledge in a team environment. This role will have opportunities to work closely with a mix of Developers and Support technicians.

What You Will Do:

  • Build and develop solutions against various platforms such as JAVA, C#, and .NET.
  • Support application issues through troubleshooting, creating enhancements, fixing Bugs and Defects.
  • Perform Data back-end query fundamentals (joins, updates, selects) in platforms such as Oracle, SQL, etc.
  • Coding UI tests for application synthetics.
  • Get involved with Radian modernization project and various decommissioning technologies.
  • ServiceNow ticket handling, Knowledge Base (KB) creation, and Service Level Agreements (SLA) adherence.
  • Others duties as assigned.

Who We Are Looking For:


Knowledge:

  • Requires technical background and experience in a development team, preferred ASP.NET, C# or JAVA programming framework.
  • Training or working experience with T-SQL syntax and relational databases.
  • Learned troubleshooting of Web-based apps, SDLC, and services is expected.
  • Strong Dev or Dev Ops abilities are what Radian is seeking.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of testing and debugging application code is essential, coupled with experience in a new development role with focus on defects.
  • Knowledge of software packages for development, Code Repos, Transaction commits, Visual Studio, MSMS, and GitHub are helpful.
  • General Knowledge of System Administration, Server components, and IIS, is also recommended.
  • Full attention to: details, interpersonal skills, logical understanding of OOP, and problem solving are this candidate's makeup.
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced dynamic AGILE environment is desired.
