About the Role:
The Coordinator is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of information, serving as the immediate liaison between the department and external clients, and contributing to department efficiencies by assisting with the training of new team members on routine procedures. The Coordinator performs administrative and operational support tasks.
The Coordinator’s duties may include processing and filing documents, maintaining databases, and assisting users with account administration. In an effort to ensure positive experiences for all clients, the Coordinator will work closely with new clients and provide ongoing support to existing clients by answering questions, addressing client concerns, and explaining best practices so that clients can utilize and maximize the value of the services. The Coordinator will also ensure that data and clients are within compliance by analyzing and comparing information against established standards and by researching and resolving data discrepancies.
Currently, this position is 100% telework, however, as our company starts to return to our new normal, a hybrid work pattern, this position may be required to periodically work on-site at our office, and the frequency would depend on the department/division's requirements. Therefore, candidates must either reside within a reasonable distance to commute to our office, or be willing to travel to our office in Herndon, when required.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Some college, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including through military service will be considered.
  • 1-3 years of experience in customer service or client management.
  • Competency with computer skills (e.g., for database, web applications, and email).
  • Competency working with Microsoft Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and active listening skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer focus, with a demonstrated ability to work with multiple customers with competing priorities.
  • Experience providing customer service to businesses/schools/organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and procedures.
  • Detailed oriented with the ability to identify problems and provide resolutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively on teams.
  • Demonstrates the Clearinghouse's core competencies: customer focus, optimizes work processes, communicates effectively, collaborates, and is open and authentic.
  • Live within a commutable distance of Herndon, VA or may be performed remotely from any of the following states: AL, CA, CO, FL, GA, KY, ME, MD, NV, NJ, NC, NY, OH, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA, WY.
  • Are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have a good faith basis for seeking an exemption from this requirement.

Additional Desired Requirements:

  • Bilingual (Spanish).
  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Experience with the student loan industry, higher education industry, and/or web order management.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain poised under pressure.
  • Experience using Salesforce and/or other CRM.
  • Experience in uploading and downloading files through the secure FTP or exchanging data using APIs.
  • Experience working with data, and/or reviewing and analyzing large volumes of data.

Physical Demands:

  • Regular and predictable attendance in the office is an essential function of the job.
  • Use of a computer terminal and/or laptop computer for 8 or more hours a day.
  • Use of a copy machine, fax machine, and telephone.
  • Frequently required to sit for 7 or more hours per day in close proximity to others in an open office environment.
  • Occasionally required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, and reach.
  • Vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Travel via car, train, and airplane, when needed

We reasonably believe that the salary range for this position is between $16.58-$21.00 per hour.
