Position Summary:

The LEO Events Social Media Internship is a hands-on, educational opportunity to apply classroom theory to real-world work experience. Designed for college students studying integrated marketing, public relations, communications, or similar degree paths, this program will provide a unique agency perspective on social media content strategy in an exciting, fast-paced environment. Reports to the Marketing Communications and Content Manager.

This position is a remote internship with weekly in-person meeting(s) with Paula Mettler, Marketing Communications and Content Manager.


Job Responsibilities
  • Overseeing agency’s interactions with the public through implementing content strategies on social media platforms
  • Analyzing engagement data, and tracking/reporting analytics through monthly audits
  • Identifying social media trends and competitor strategies
  • Collaborating with business development and production teams to post timely content regarding client work
  • Creating an integrated social media content calendar to share:
    • Agency news, awards, recognitions
    • Posts for important days & holidays
    • Website content, blogs, white papers
    • Public events and webinars
  • Managing social media calendars for Jay Uiberall Foundation and CANVAS
  • Designing branded graphics in Canva and photography as needed
  • Managing organizational and administrative tasks as needed


Qualifications:
  • Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year university with a major in marketing, business, communication, or related field


Competencies:
  • Exceptional time-management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Demonstrate trustworthiness, the utmost discretion, and responsibility
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in using social media applications such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.


Compensation:

Academic year internship: 3 credits – a minimum total of 120 hours are required (10 hours/week) for 10 weeks

  • $15/hour ($180/10-hour work week)

Summer internship: 6 credits – a minimum total of 240 hours are required (20 hours/week) for 12 weeks

  • $15/hour ($300/20-hour work week)
