About the role:

Takeda's summer internship program blends real world experience with an extensive overview of the pharmaceutical industry. Knowledgeable mentors will provide guidance as you gain professional hands-on experience. The summer internship program is 12 weeks in length and offers a unique perspective into a world-class pharmaceutical company. Our internship program also provides you the opportunity to network with people at Takeda through various planned events and activities.

Project Outline:

The Global Portfolio Strategy (GPS) function and Center of Operational Performance (CoOP) have a broad reach across the enterprise and there is a need for the spectrum of business-facing SharePoint sites to remain cohesive, complete, interconnected, engaging and easy to navigate. The scope includes but is not limited to the GPS and CoOP home sites, and a new Program Management (PM) Academy site.

The intern will be responsible for creating and customizing SharePoint sites and components to enhance utility and the user experience. They will connect across the team to collect requirements, map a solution, and implement it under the guidance of Christian Lease of the CoOP/ R&D PMO. As part of planning, they will develop an inventory of existing pages and content for review with page owners to ensure materials are up to date and complete.

The intern will sharpen their facilitation skills by engaging stakeholders and driving discussions. They will be exposed to technical and logical problem-solving and troubleshooting. By the end of the internship, they will have gained hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the structure and workings of a Pharmaceutical Research & Development organization. This includes insights into decision-making, communication needs/ processes, personnel development, and prioritization as they relate to delivery of innovative medicines to patients.

The intern will be introduced to Takeda’s corporate culture and values. Through formal and on-the-job experiences, Takeda is committed to developing areas specific to the intern’s interest while exposing them to Takeda’s technologies, tools, and enterprise approach to Drug Development. Throughout the course of the internship, they will have the opportunity to network with Takeda employees across the organization.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis
  • Must be available full time (40 hours/week) a minimum of 12 weeks during the Summer months
  • Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0
  • Undergraduate, Graduate, PhD, MD student with at least one year of university studies before internship.
  • Return to university for at least one semester post-internship
  • Takeda does not provide student housing or housing stipends

Salary & Location:

  • Intern pay rate ranges are from $18/hour to $45/hour, depending on students level in their undergraduate or graduate program and level professional experience.
  • Location is COVID-19 dependent, remote applicants may apply.
