Accounting

Secure revenue by identifying, verifying and posting payments. As well as verifying the validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating payment details; performs other accounting tasks pertaining to receivable accounts.

Transaction Processing (80%)

  • Processing of all cash/check receipts daily, maintain accurate records and reconcile lockbox reports.
  • Receiving, analyzing and applying payments to invoices and customers. Ensuring accuracy in payment application.
  • Process and apply credit card payments.
  • Process wire transfers/ACHs and maintain accurate records.
  • Process balance transfers, credit memos, debit memos, and refunding customer payments within established guidelines in accordance with NSC policies and procedures.
  • Assume primary responsibility of processing of credit card refund requests received from Customer Service and DMC.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers to resolve payment issues in timely manner.
  • Address and resolve Accounting Support tickets and Salesforce cases. Escalate unresolved issues appropriately, quickly and recommend solutions to minimize future problems.
  • Analyze and ensure any unapplied payments- wire transfers, ACH transactions and credit card are posted for end of month close.
  • Process sales tax returns and add/manage tax exempt certificates to the customers account.
  • Mail out monthly statements to the customers and reach out to them for outstanding balance.

Other Job duties (20%)

  • Engage in process improvement initiative and ensure that procedures are documented.
  • Actively participate with team members to achieve company and departmental goals.
  • May performs various research projects as needed for Accounts Receivable or Accounting.
  • Responsible for safety as outlined in the Safety Manual. Follows safety policies and practices specific to job/position and level.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree in Business or Accounting preferred and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in Intacct & Salesforce preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
  • Knowledge of Accounting Concepts.
  • Ability to operate ten-key calculator with proficiency; accuracy in working with figures and details, detail oriented, light typing skills (35 WPM)
