Intern - Fraud Intelligence Analyst (Remote, WA)

The Summer Internship Program is a vital piece of BECU’s hiring philosophy and strategy. Interns are assigned a mentor in the department in which they will be working. The intern will work closely with their mentor throughout the duration of the internship. This role is remote eligible from WA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with Fraud Intelligence Manager to analyze the impact and effectiveness of:

  • Online banking authentication rule changes
  • Verafin-transaction monitoring system
  • Debit/credit card rules (Falcon, fallback, stand-in limits, and 3DS)
  • Chargeback recovery strategy
  • Early warning and detection signs of 1st Party Fraud

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Data Analytics, Criminal Justice or Computer Science degrees preferred, others may be considered
  • Previous experience or course work with data analytics, probability and statistics, and criminal justice (fraud, law, etc.) preferred
  • SQL, Alteryx, Python, Advanced Excel skills and experience preferred
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.7+ required
  • Proven leadership skills either on or off campus preferred
  • Community involvement/volunteerism preferred
  • Participation in extracurricular activities preferred
  • Able to commit to a 12-week program throughout summer
  • Comprehensive Excel skill preferred
  • Strong written communication skills preferred
